An Application
There is an extremely important lesson here. When we believe something we act like it's true. Paul believed God wanted him to preach in Rome (ACT 23:11) so he wasn't worried about making it there. But Paul wasn't alone, at least Luke was with him (hence the "we" in ACT 27:44.) No one was recorded as being short tempered or bitter about their situation, even though it stunk (not eating nor seeing the sun or stars, hitting sand bar, etc.) God had miracles to perform soon...
Connect the Dots
...and Paul just needed to wait (PS 46:10.) Waiting is tough, especially when it's unpleasant. But there are times God offers us to demonstrate we put our money where our mouth is. And where the rubber meets the road is times of frustration and difficulty. This is when it's most important for us to remember we are God's ambassadors, whether we are good (2CO 5:20) or bad examples (EZE 36:23). So we should be good ones: RO 8:18, 1PE 4:12-14. / In MK 16:18 Jesus talked of handling snakes.
